Happy New Year

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year Lovelies!

Welcome to 2016. A Year sure to be full of amazing and wonderful things.

This is the first official post of ‘iShineiWin’ and what better way to launch a blog than with a post welcoming you to the new year!

The 1st of January is usually the day when a lot of people realise that the promises they made to themselves (and to God) may be harder than they thought to keep. Then usually over the next few days that follow, the plans you had for “new year, new me” start to unravel before your eyes and you realise that you’ve become so accustomed to failing at keeping resolutions, it doesn’t even phase you anymore and has even become a running joke.

A dear S.I.C posted on this on Facebook not too long ago:

“That ‘new year, new me’ statement just doesn’t make sense to me to be honest. Unless you’re giving your life to Christ on the 1st Jan… #JustSayin”

When I saw this I was quick to like that post. I was just like “Yes, tell them. Tell. Them.”

However, I’m sure at the time a lot of us do mean it – I mean, who doesn’t want to be the best of themselves? And just like I thought the new year would be a good time to launch my blog, some of us thought it would be a good time to renovate ourselves. But it’s easy to fall back into an old routine when you don’t have the right mind set to stop you from doing so. I mean, saying we’re going to change is very different from actually doing so and for some reason once we try to make that change it can seem like the hardest thing in the world.

So, how about in this new year we don’t try to be anything, we just be. Sometimes when the word ‘try’ is put in front of something, that thing you’re ‘trying’ to do becomes a chore or a task. Not to go all Yoda on you guys but,

“Do or do not. There is no try.”

You can be everything God wants you to be and more if you only allow yourself to let go and let God be the one to direct you on the path you your better self. Stop trying to be a “better person”, start declaring that you have the life of God in you and nothing can stop you from achieving your goals for 2016! Speak right! Don’t admit defeat before you’ve even taken a step towards victory.

Have the mind set that anything is possible with God, including all you want to be and do in this new year. Give your body to The Word. God’s Word brings us faith, hope, strength and direction. We don’t have to look anywhere else for these things. Let the word of God shine through you, increase you and upgrade you. Be conscious of your origin.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world”

– 1 John 4:4

We must learn to confess the right things concerning our lives and see what The Word of God says about us. The Word of God has creative power to transform our lives. It brings only good things to us and transforms circumstances that may seem hopeless in our lives, making them a testimony instead.

And also, it’s important to spend time praying. God wants us to talk to him and he has so much to say to us. He is more willing to give to us then we are willing to receive. I don’t think the God that gave his son for us, wants anything less than the best out of our lives. So, let this year be the year you do more for Him and be more of your new creation self and less of the world – it will make plans for this year come to fruition in such a more complete and perfect way.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

– Romans 12:2

Talk right. Think right. Act right.

P.S. – For those of you who may be thinking it’s too late. It’s never to late to be a child of God. Jesus died for everybody. I mean everybody. God has given you a chance to be that new you. He has already chosen you, he’s just waiting for you to choose to him

Happy New Year again & remember to tell yourself “I shine, I win.”  (As if we could do anything else. *hair flick*)

Keep Shining & Winning ✨👑
xoxo
