A Sailor Went To Sea

A Sailor Went To Sea

A lot of times for us young people, when people ask us what we want to do with our lives it’s like “here we go again 🙄” And yes I agree, it can be annoying to be asked that all of your youthful life BUT really though, what are we doing?

You can be anything and everything you want to be. You may not know it straight away but that is what prayer and The Holy Spirit is there for, to guide us on our right path to success and a victorious life.

The Holy Spirit will help guide you to make the right choices. He lives inside of us and is ready to help us fulfil God’s best plan for our lives.

Without guidance from God, law and order disappear, but God blesses everyone who obeys his Law. – Proverbs 29:18

You don’t have to feel lost or confused or as if you don’t know who you are or what to do or like there is not order to your life.

The best thing to do is allow Him to lead and direct us and that way, we are sure we cannot fail in whatever it is we do.

Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. – Isaiah 30:21

We shouldn’t rely on just ourselves and our own knowledge of life and situations, but on God. He is the one who gives our lives a meaning and we should trust in Him to make our lives beautiful successes through listening, acting and confessing His word and following His plan.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. – Proverbs 3:5

As a child of God, we come from a line of winners, champions, the victors. We have been graced with the awesomeness of God🤔. To put it short – we’re pretty special👀😎 #Justsaying😄

So, never let anyone tell you that can’t do anything or be anything and don’t let anything stop you, including yourself. Dive deeper into what’s in store for you, think about and speak into your future.

Don’t let only what you can see from your boat be all that there is. There’s always more under the surface …

It’s a Man’s World

It’s a Man’s World

Welcome to the month of February!🙌

And the year just keeps getting better.😀

January was a busy month, as everyone was getting back to business and it seems like it flew right by. We shouldn’t loose that momentum but continue to go upwards and forwards, only stopping to bring others along on the Journey of Success with us!

Today’s blog is about you. Well, everyone on Earth that is. 🌎🌍🌏

It’s easy sometimes – especially when allowing ourselves to be influenced by things going on in the natural world, other people and our senses – to think “Why bother praying?” Or “Why bother doing anything at all? Surely God sees and knows what’s going on in the World, why does he need us to speak up or act before he does anything?”

Trust me, I used to have these moments a lot, when I’d just think “But God, you know what’s happening, why are you allowing this?” But then if I’m thinking this that means I must be doubting God which I shouldn’t be because I know there’s nothing he cannot do. Which led me to the conclusion that God has already done all he needs to do, it’s me who has to play my part.

You see the thing is, this is a man’s world. And God needs us to pray for certain matters concerning this world before He can intervene. When we pray, we are making it possible for God to help us.

If there’s a problem, God needs your consent to step in. Just like if someone’s house was robbed, the police would still need their permission before they can get involved and go forward with the case, because the house belongs to that person. So wondering why God doesn’t just “make the pain go away” when you haven’t asked or spoken to Him about it is like wondering why the police haven’t solved the case when they haven’t been given permission to be involved in the investigation.

God wants you to depend on him, but you can’t do that if you won’t let him in all the way.

Having said that, This life that we live on earth is our responsibility, which means we’re the ones who need to act to do something about what goes on down here. We need to use the power God has given us to change situations, and circumstances. God’s part in all this is to guide us through His word and The Holy Spirit, so that we make the right decisions. Life doesn’t just happen to you. Everything we are today is based off choices we’ve made.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

 – Deuteronomy 30:19

You don’t like how things are going with your life and around you? Then choose to change it! We can be anything we want to be, successful, rich, smart, healthy. So don’t settle for anything less than the best! God wants us to be all these wonderful things and much more, but we have to want it too and make that choice to act on and live by His word so that we can be all the God wants us to be.

Instead of feeling sad about what’s going on in the world, pray about it and inspire others to turn to God so that they may join you in prayer and take action also ensuring that better life. Take charge of your life and don’t let outside circumstances run it for you, because it is from within that the power comes from to make that change you want/need.

The word of God makes your life glorious, therefore if you live by it, there’s no way you or anything concerning your environment (in and including the earth) can be a failure.

Think positive, speak positive, act positive, be positive. 🌞

Complaining about what’s happening around us rather than doing something about it will not stop that thing we’re complaining about from happening.

We’re the light of the world, we’re the ones bringing hope to people and asking them to have faith. This world is God’s creation and it is ours for the taking.

Enjoy your week!

*I was actually going to talk about Love this week. However after being inspired by the daily devotional Rhapsody of Realities by Rev. Chris Oyakhilome for the month of February, I decided to change the topic last minute because the Word I’ve been receiving for this month has been too much to ignore.*

First Fruit Service

First Fruit Service

First Fruit & First Timers

Good Evening Lovelies!

Hope you’ve had a lovely Sunday and a blessed week, I know I have.😉

So in my church today we had First Fruit Service and no that doesn’t mean I waited for Tesco to open and bought the first fruits put on the shelf to take to church. 😀

For those thinking, “So what is first fruit then??” First Fruit is the first of your income. It’s the First and the Best of what you have to give to God. And is NOT to be taken lightly.

When you have come into the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance and possess it and live in it, you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the soil which you harvest from the land the Lord your God gives you and put it in the basket…

– Deuteronomy 26: 1-2

It is a first of a series of what you want God to continuously give to you, believing and expecting more to come. It’s not like general offering. It’s like when you pay your bills you expect their to be light and your phone to work and all these other benefits of doing so, but you know that if you didn’t pay your bills these things wouldn’t come. Also, paying your bills doesn’t put on the light of the electric company, it puts on your light. So, it’s not like God needs the money but it is us who needs and wants to receive the blessings from giving.

My Pastor, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome said the way and how much you give is dependent on how much you want to be blessed. You make that decision.

Imagine you are making a deal of some sort and you are told that whatever you give, it is 100% guaranteed that by the end of the deal you will get back ten times that, would you give small or big?

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and they presses shall burst out with new wine.

Proverbs 3: 9-10

Remember that our giving to God is an act of our faith. And we must trust in him always and trust in his Word. The Word is the truth and by doing what it tells us to, we are doing what is right.👌 It doesn’t matter whether you work or you’re a student, pray about it and God will lead you in the right direction.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalm 37: 5-7

P.S. –

Speaking of things beginning with F…
The Fishers of Men project is also something important that is going on in my churh and other churches around the world and involves us going out to the people of the world and bringing them into to The Word.🌎🐟💒

So, next week (if you didn’t do it this Sunday) as you’re bringing your first fruit, bring someone to church too and make it mission to bring someone every week. God’s number one concern is Soul Winning and he’s given us the wonderful job of helping him do that.

Are you?

Happy Sunday 💕

Be A Blessing

Be A Blessing

Think about how many stories you’ve told people over the past few weeks. Whether it be gossip or about new shoes/clothes you received or even about new music, movies or TV shows.

Now think about how many times you’ve told people about Jesus in the past few weeks.

What’s the ratio looking like??

If there’s a big difference in these amounts with the higher number favouring the former then we need to change that.

When it comes to social media and social events, we can be very quick to share news such as where we are, what we’re doing and even what we’re eating – which is fine BUT inbetween all that or even before all that, have you thought about using these social platforms to spread the gospel?

I know how carried away I can get sometimes on social media and most times I stop myself and I say “Hold on mate. You’re singing Whitney Houston into your phone but have you told someone about Jesus today?” And although she had a lovely voice, somehow I think that telling someone Jesus will always love them is more of a blessing than telling them Whitney will😂.

The Bible says,

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the Power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…

– Romans 1:16

Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel. Don’t think you’re overstepping by telling someone about Jesus. When people go to the hospital and they get better they usually make sure everyone knows about their recovery. Well how much more us who have actually been recreated and born again with a new life! I mean to be honest it doesn’t make sense not to be telling people. We shouldn’t want to keep it a secret that we’ve been given a brand new life that comes with all these blessings and greatness including being a blessing to others, just by telling them about The Word.

Believe in the message that has been given to you and use it to bless others and bring them into this new life so they can enjoy too!

Soul Winning is paramount to God. That means it is more important than anything.

And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

– Daniel 12:3

Also remember that you are not alone. You are full of the Holy Ghost and with Him nothing is impossible. Therefore, don’t feel like you can’t preach The Word or that you can’t tell people because of what they may think because with Him you always can. The power and efficiency of God’s Word is unquestionable. So, we can take His Word and preach it because we know by faith and testimonies that it cannot fail.

It’s all nice telling people about our new weave and fleeky eyebrows girls OR the new shape up boys – “Shout out to my barber! Big Up😎”. However, from now on, we should try to tell people about our new life and make our ‘shout outs’ to Jesus publicly as well as privately.

Nevermind what people have to say about your proclamations or preachings. You know who you are and you don’t need any man to validate your worth. We don’t seek the praise and honour of men but of God and God honours you for anything you do for his Kingdom which includes soul winning.

Don’t let us become victims of society. But be the success God has made you to be and let others know that they can be a success too!

What are you going to do to make a difference?

The Song that’s been in my heart this week is ‘Stayed on You” by Eben

Like I said in my ‘Be Prepared’ post, it’s so easy to fall back into the routine of being too busy for God.

And starting lectures this week showed me just how easy it could be actually. Almost made this mistake, but I thank God I pulled myself out of it before I became too comfortable with not praying everyday or spending time with Him everyday.

When I felt like I was drifting or becoming distracted, I would sing this song until I would start speaking in tongues or just to remind myself that God is my main focal point.

If you ever find yourself overwhelmed or becoming distracted just sing this song and remember he alone is God and worship and praise him for everything that he is and all that he has made you to be. When you focus on him all those feelings and things not of the spirit just seem to fade away…

That’s the link/video above.

What is inside of you? – I

Oh, I’ve never had a boyfriend
And no, I’ve never been kissed –
Yet to ‘Everyman’, I seem to lose myself a bit.
Searching for a love that can make me complete,
Even though in me I have the one that none can defeat.
I’m searching for a touch so warm and strong
And yes, I know my hands were made to lift –
So I say: I’m good, I’m not looking, I’m not searching,
I’m content.

But, my mind is racing with thoughts that I should not have
Memories of experiences flooding my mind that I have not had –
Longing for someone to confine in.
I tell myself “In me is the comforter”
Still I scroll through whatsapp, scan through snapchat
To find something, to find someone, to feel anything –
Whilst confessing that I’m not moved by my feelings,
Yet, here I am, entertaining these ‘demons’…

SSAW note –
The person has chosen to be anonymous for now, but I love this first part of the poem as I think it describes the feelings and thoughts of a lot of youth today, especially those in Christ. We know who we have, and we talk right, we just have to remember to act on The Word too.

Be Prepared

Be Prepared

Hey guys!

I trust everyone’s week has been blessed!

Since the first post was just a post to launch us into the new year, I’ll say welcome again and thanks for reading.

I know most of us will have gone back to school or work this week (not me though #onemoreweekoffreedom👌) and so the “chaos” begins. School runs, exams, repeatedly checking bus times, rush hour and all that jazz. But while everything seems to be moving at full speed already, we mustn’t forget ourselves or be lost in the confusion.

Over the next few weeks is the perfect time to plan and prepare yourself for the year ahead. Instead of rushing into things, we should take time to pray and plan out our days. Now that we’ve gotten back on schedule, we can carefully and appropriately apply God’s Word to our daily lives and agenda’s.

We should take time to meditate and pray so that we will continue to grow and achieve all that we can. Don’t underestimate yourself or God. If He can do all things and He lives in us, then surely that means so can we! As Christians whatever we do will prosper, so don’t worry about how fast everything seems to be moving right now set your focus on Jesus and do not be distracted. Sometimes we may feel like we’re too busy dealing with life to study the word or to take time out to pray, but we have to remember that there’s always time for God.

You’ll even start to notice that the more time you spend with God and His Word, the smoother things start to run. This is because by praying and studying (especially in the mornings) you have set yourself to have a great day already. There is no way your day cannot be blessed after you’ve spent time talking with God and confessing His word!

Keeping our minds focused on God and His word will surely certify us a life of true success. Our minds are a doorway to our spirit, and out of our spirit are the issues of life. This is why we have to get God’s word into our system, to prepare ourselves correctly for a positive change in any situation or circumstance.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. – Isaiah 26:3

You have to understand this: we have been raised with a new kind of life. And some people won’t/don’t get that. So don’t expect everybody to just accept at first. They may look at you strangely and even ask what’s gotten into you this new year, just tell them “the Word of God” and smile!

There are Scars out there looking for a Simba to destroy, but remember in The Lion King, Simba was the son of a King and therefore an heir to the throne, he was destined for greatness and once he accepted that and acted upon it no one could stop him for taken what was rightfully his. (I know it’s a Lion King reference, but the principle is the same 😀)

Don’t let people’s opinions or negative actions stop you from shining!

Be prepared to pray more than ever.

Be prepared to study more than ever.

Be prepared to grow more than ever.

Be prepare to shine and win like never before.

This year let people know just how Great our God is!

And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory. – Romans 8:17

So this week make it your mission to spend more time with God so that he can prepare you for what’s to come.
